Middle East: US Secretary of State Praises HM King Mohammed VI’s Commitment to Promoting Peace

The United States, through its Secretary of State, Antony Blinken, praised on October 12, His Majesty King Mohammed the VI’s commitment to promoting peace and security in the Middle East.

During a telephone conversation on October 11 with the Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation, and Moroccan Expatriates, Nasser Bourita, the Head of US diplomacy commended the “close” ongoing cooperation between Morocco and the United States.

According to a statement from the State Department spokesman, discussions between the two officials also focused on efforts to prevent escalation in the Middle East region.

It should be recalled the Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation, and Moroccan Expatriates, Nasser Bourita, stressed, on October 11 in Cairo before the extraordinary session of the Arab League (AL) Council of Foreign Ministers on the situation in the Gaza Strip, that His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may Allah assist him, has never ceased to call for an end to conflict and violence, in favor of peace, cooperation and prosperity in the region.

During this session, Minister Bourita affirmed Morocco’s commitment to all Arab and international efforts aimed at achieving the aspirations of Palestinians to establish an independent state with East Al-Quds as its capital based on the June 4, 1967 borders, in accordance with the internationally agreed two-state solution.
