A total of 3,451 new cases of coronavirus infection (Covid-19) and 4,487 recoveries have been recorded in Morocco in the last 24 hours, the Ministry of Health said on Thursday.
The number of first-time vaccines is 19,745,725, while that of fully vaccinated people (1st and 2nd doses) stands at 16,257,925, the ministry said in its daily bulletin on the Covid-19 epidemiological situation.
The new report brings to 896,913 the total number of contaminations since the first case reported in Morocco in March 2020. The number of people recovered has risen to 844,489, i.e. a cure rate of 94.2%.
New contaminations were identified in the regions of Casablanca-Settat (1,100), Rabat-Salé-Kénitra (1,057), Marrakech-Safi (146), Tanger-Tétouan-Al Hoceima (364), Oriental (344), Beni Mellal-Khénifra (114), Fès-Meknès (112), Souss-Massa (84), Guelmim-Oued Noun (50), Drâa-Tafilalet (38), Dakhla-Oued Eddahab (22) and Laâyoune-Sakia El Hamra (20).
As for deaths, their total number rose to 13,370 (lethality 1.5%), with 74 new cases recorded in the regions of Casablanca-Settat (20), Rabat-Salé-Kénitra (14), Marrakech-Safi (05) , Tanger-Tétouan-Al Hoceima (06), l’Oriental (07), Beni Mellal-Khénifra (09), Fès-Meknès (03), Souss-Massa (03), Guelmim-Oued Noun (03), Drâa- Tafilalet (02), Dakhla-Oued Eddahab (01) and Laâyoune-Sakia El Hamra (01).
The active cases number 39,054, while severe or critical cases reached 1,922, of which 69 were placed under intubation.
