The British company Xlinks intends to develop a project to build the longest electric cable in the world, connecting Morocco to the United Kingdom. Xlinks which hopes to raise 22 billion dollars to connect the two countries with 3,800 km of cables, the objective being to transport 10.5 GW of Moroccan solar power plants to the United Kingdom.
Xlinks proposes to complete the Morocco-United Kingdom link by the end of this decade, providing enough electricity to supply more than 7 million British homes from a power plant to be located in Guelmim-Oued Noun.
