The Moroccan amateur selection won the 42nd edition of the Pan Arab Men’s Golf Championship, held between July 27 and 29 at the Casa Green Golf course in Bouskoura.
The Royal Moroccan Golf Federation (FRMG) reported, on July 31 in a statement, that this championship brought together the 50 best golfers in the Arab region from thirteen countries, including Morocco, Bahrain, Egypt, Iraq, Kuwait, Lebanon, Libya, Oman, Palestine, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Tunisia, and the UAE, in a spirit of friendly competition, fair play, and golf promotion.
According to the Federation, the Moroccan golf selection dominated the ranking, snatching first place with a remarkable total score of 18 strokes under par, while the Egyptian team came in 1 shot under par, followed by the Tunisian team, which finished 27 shots over par.
In the individual standings, Egyptian golfer Issa Abouelela ranked first with a score of 5 under par, ahead of the four Moroccan golfers, Hugo Mazen Trommetter (-4), El Mehdi Fakori (-4), Adam Bresnu (-4), and Soufiane Dahmane (-2).
Since 2011, Morocco has won the team title 11 times and the individual title 12 times.
The 1st Arab Professional Championships will be held between August 1 and 4 at the Casa Green Golf and will see the participation of the same 13 Arab countries.
