The Minister of Equipment and Water, Nizar Baraka, held talks, on March 4 in Rabat, with the Spanish Minister of Transport and Sustainable Mobility, Oscar Puente Santiago.
In a statement to the press following this meeting, Baraka affirmed that his talks with the Spanish official were an opportunity to examine ways to strengthen bilateral relations and to develop a road map for the implementation of large-scale projects relating to infrastructure and the 2030 FIFA World Cup.
Discussions also focused on the continental connection project between Morocco and Spain, which will contribute to the consolidation of distinguished relations between the two countries.
In this regard, the Moroccan official referred to the meeting of the Spanish-Moroccan Joint Committee, which will be held at the end of next May, in order to develop a roadmap for the evaluation of the studies carried out for this purpose and to finalize the design of this strategic project.
For his part, Puente Santiago described his meeting with Baraka as “fruitful”, praising the excellent relations uniting Morocco and Spain in various fields such as infrastructure, the organization of the 2030 FIFA World Cup, and port cooperation.
