The Secretary General of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), Hussein Ibrahim Taha, praised, on January 17, the efforts of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, Chairman of Al-Quds Committee, in support of the Palestinian cause.
Speaking during a meeting with the Managing Director of Bayt Mal Al-Quds Acharif Agency, Mohamed Salem Cherkaoui, at the headquarters of the OIC’s General Secretariat in Jeddah, Taha shed light on the important role that the Agency plays as the financial branch of Al-Quds Committee.
This meeting was also an opportunity for the two parties to examine ways to strengthen cooperation, to accompany the agency’s efforts in the city of Al-Quds and support the resistance of the Maqdessis.
In this regard, Taha stressed the need to continue the implementation of decisions that encourage Member States to support the Agency’s budget and programs, reiterating the commitment of the General Secretariat to strengthen cooperation to facilitate the tasks of this institution.
For his part, Cherkaoui presented the Agency’s annual activities report for 2023 and its plans to support the inhabitants of Al-Quds Acharif in the sectors of health, education, housing, women, youth, and childhood, as well as programs dedicated to vulnerable categories.
