The Moroccan National Tourism Office (ONMT) is implementing a special plan for its participation in the World Travel Market-WTM London 2023, underway until November 8.
The Moroccan National Tourism Office’s participation in this event is marked by a strong representation, including 44 professional co-exhibitors and representatives from the Kingdom’s 12 regions.
The Moroccan delegation is led by Minister of Tourism, Handicrafts, and Social and Solidarity Economy, Fatim-Zahra Ammor, ONMT’s Managing Director, Adel El Fakir, and the President of the National Tourism Confederation (CNT), Hamid Bentahar.
A must-attend trade show for professionals in the travel industry, World Travel Market (WTM) is the world’s largest BtoB travel trade event, generating nearly MAD 35 billion in contracts. For the 2023 edition, Morocco is the World Travel Market’s featured destination, which provides the Kingdom with exceptional branding and an exclusive presence at the opening ceremony.
ONMT will seize this exceptional opportunity to reveal its new stand concept, which will be implemented across all Moroccan trade shows between 2023 and 2024. Morocco’s stand covers a record 760 m2, 130 m2 of which is dedicated to the Marrakech-Safi and Agadir-Souss Massa regions, two of the most popular destinations for British tourists.
On the sidelines of this global event, the Moroccan National Tourism Office (ONMT) signed a five-year partnership with British operator JET2, a leader in the market, with the aim of establishing Morocco as a top destination in the programming of the leading British operator. In the first year of this agreement, 17 flights a week will be scheduled from several departure points in the United Kingdom, with the aim of ultimately reaching 28 flights per week.
ONMT has also signed a five-year partnership with eDreams ODIGEO, the world’s leading travel subscription platform, which owns the brands eDreams, GO Voyages, Opodo and Travellink. This contract aims to triple current annual targets, with an annual growth rate of approximately 30%.
Through this unprecedented participation in WTM London 2023, ONMT is reinforcing its “Light In Action” strategy by showcasing its sales force at one of the world’s largest BtoB trade shows for the travel industry.
ONMT aims to strengthen Morocco’s position in the traditional travel markets and gain a foothold in new promising markets able to contribute to boosting Morocco as a tourist destination.
