The Director General of National Security and Territorial Surveillance, Abdellatif Hammouchi, held talks on December 12, in Rabat with the Director General of the French national police, Frédéric Veaux, who is on a working visit to the Kingdom.
According to a press release from the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN), this meeting examined ways to strengthen cooperation mechanisms between the two countries in various security areas, including drug trafficking, irregular migration, terrorism, cybercrime, and transnational organized crime.
The same source noted that the two parties also stressed, during this meeting, the importance of exchanging expertise in the field of security and discussed the mechanisms for implementing joint operations within the framework of bilateral cooperation, in particular ensuring security in the next Olympic Games which will take place in Paris, on the basis of mutual trust and common interest.
At the end of their talks, the two parties agreed on a similar visit by the Moroccan official to Paris, to strengthen the areas of bilateral security cooperation and diversify the levels and the forms of this cooperation for the benefit of the two countries.
This bilateral meeting is part of a series of meetings held by Hammouchi, with the aim of consolidating security cooperation and coordination with regional and international partners and organizations.
