Senegal’s Ambassador to Morocco, Seynabou Dial, affirmed on December 6 in Ifrane, that Morocco is the “economic champion of Africa” and the bearer of initiatives that bring together African countries.
In a statement to the press, on the sidelines of the African Trade and Investment Summit, noted that “Morocco plays a role of leadership, solidarity and support”.
Praising Morocco’s international influence, and its contribution to Africa’s development, the Senegalese official also welcomed the Kingdom’s commitment alongside the Republic of Senegal, indicating that the two countries “maintain historical relations which are reflected in the level of economic cooperation and investment”.
Referring to the forum’s theme “Building African Economic Champions”, Dial stressed the importance of economic diplomacy in the promotion of trade and investment and the development of the African continent.
“There are already African champions and I seize this opportunity to pay tribute to the dynamism of our African economic actors who, despite a challenging environment, achieve results which make our continent proud,” stated Senegal’s ambassador, calling for “more efforts to support them and ensure that they can fully take on this role”.
Underway until December 8, in the presence of several decision-makers and actors from the African private sector, this summit is an opportunity to discuss the issues and challenges facing Africa’s economic and social transformation.
