The Emir of Kuwait Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah appointed, on January 4, Sheikh Mohammad Sabah Al-Salem Al-Sabah as Prime Minister and tasked him with forming a new government, revealed the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA).
“After reviewing the Constitution and the UAE order issued on December 20, 2023, accepting the resignation of the Prime Minister”, the Emir of Kuwait appointed Mohammad Sabah Al-Salem Al-Sabah as the next Prime Minister, and instructed him to submit the names of future cabinet members, noted the same source.
The President of the Council of Ministers, Sheikh Ahmed Nawaf Al-Sabah, presented his resignation and that of his government to Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah after his swearing-in before the Kuwaiti National Assembly as the new emir of the country.
Until the new government is formed, the current government will continue managing the country’s current affairs.
