Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rachid Talbi Alami, met Monday in Rabat, with the Chairman of the Committee on National Defense and Armed Forces at the French National Assembly, Thomas Gassilloud, currently on a working visit to Morocco.
According to a statement by the House of Representatives, discussions between the two parties focused on strengthening parliamentary cooperation between the legislative institutions of the two countries, as well as on international and regional issues of common interest.
In this regard, the two parties expressed their will to advance cooperation between the two countries in various fields, particularly in relation to parliamentary matters, calling for strengthening the role of the Franch-Moroccan Parliamentary Forum, which held its last session in 2019 in Paris.
On a different note, Talbi Alami and Gassilloud discussed the latest developments with regard to national matters, especially the autonomy plan, considering it a realistic and credible solution that enjoys regional and international support, and will help resolve the artificial dispute over the Moroccan Sahara.
