Rabat – The first edition of the Marrakech Short Film Festival will be organized between late September and early October 2021, we learned from the organizers on Thursday.
With a mission to create a bridge between Marrakech and the world of short films and to showcase local talents while sharing the work of foreign filmmakers, the Marrakech Short Film Festival is the first festival organized by female founders namely Ramia Beladel and Thaïs Martin, two artists based in the ocher city, with years of experience in curating cultural events.
This first edition, which will put Egypt in the spotlight, will offer film lovers a diverse selection of 42 short films by emerging and established directors, the same source adds, noting that the organizers have planned private screening venues. extraordinary, especially in Jnane Tamsna and the heritage sites in the old district of Laksour.
Lasting a week in the open air, with respect for social distancing, limited to 70 people per day, the mini-festival will present a diverse selection, in addition to a selection of foreign films and a competitive program, focused on Moroccan talents.
Chaired by filmmaker Kamal Hachkar, the jury for this first edition will be composed of Daniele JSuissa, former director and producer, Marie Courtin, first photoshoot producer for magazines and fashion brands in Marrakech and Mehdi Sefrioui, fashion photographer, in addition to the actor Tarik Mounim.
