According to a statement from the BNRM, the National Library of the Kingdom of Morocco (BNRM) has launched its new digital platform “Kitab”, allowing visitors to have access to the most recent national publications.
This platform, which is accessible via “Kitab.bnrm.ma“, will allow viewing national publications whether they are published in 2020 or those that will be published soon. The digital platform also offers the possibility to download a national digital bibliography both in Arabic and French languages, from 1968 until 2020, which will allow visitors to access the history of Moroccan publications (encyclopedias, books, and media publications).
Accordingly, regarded as a virtual space connecting various actors in the field, “Kitab” will allow publishers to make their publications and productions widely disseminated, and therefore becomes easier for readers and researchers to keep in touch with all the novelties of the book market, as it will make Moroccan writers better known through their bibliographies.
“As part of the digitalization dynamic initiated by the Kingdom, the launch of the platform accompanies the strategy of the BNRM aimed at strengthening its position, as a cultural leader, on the national and continental level”, the same source added.
As part of its participatory approach, the BNRM makes the following e-mail address available to stakeholders in the field kitab.bnrm@gmail.com, reserved for suggestions and information related to published books and bibliographies of Moroccan writers who look forward to joining the “Kitab” project.
A press conference will be organized next Thursday for the sake of presenting such a fruitful project, bringing publishers and media closer to the various projects scheduled for the 2021/2022 cultural season, especially those related to digitalization and national bibliography.
