The United States Assistant Secretary of State for International Organization Affairs, Michele Sison, praised, Wednesday in Rabat, the role of His Majesty King Mohammed VI in supporting peace and security in the MENA region and worldwide.
“We greatly appreciate the role of His Majesty King Mohammed VI in supporting peace and security in the MENA region and worldwide”, stated Sison at a press conference following discussions with the Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccan Expatriates, Nasser Bourita.
Sison added that the meeting provided an opportunity to talk about the significance of human rights as well as Morocco’s recent election to the UN Human Rights Council.
In addition, the ambassador announced a meeting with the United Nations Country Team to discuss how the organization’s programs support regional economic growth, the livelihood of women and youth, and aid for refugees and illegal migrants, stating that these issues are ones that “our Moroccan partners take very seriously.”
