The Atlas Lions wrapped up their friendly against Peru, Tuesday, March 28, at the Civitas Metropolitano Stadium in Madrid, in a goalless draw. During the post-match press conference, national head coach, Walid Regragui, acknowledged the difficulty of playing against Peru, while expressing his satisfaction with his players’ performance.
Regragui also explained that this match was an opportunity to experience new things, stating that “the players were good defensively and I believe we had a good first half where we created chances, but I think we lacked efficiency.”
The head coach concluded that further work and improvement need to be done in terms of offensive efficiency, to create scoring opportunities in the next matches.
The Morocco-Peru friendly was an interesting game that attracted the attention of all football enthusiasts. During the first half, the Atlas Lions had several opportunities to score, but the game ended with neither of the teams scoring. The second half followed suit with both Morocco and Peru failing to score.
