2023 Taekwondo World Cup Team Championships: Moroccan Co-Ed Selection Finishes Runner-Up

The Moroccan co-ed Taekwondo selection finished runner-up on November 14 in the mixed team event at the 2023 Taekwondo World Cup Team Championships Series, which was held in the Korean city of Goyang (November 14-16).

The Moroccan selection finished second in the championship following its final match against Brazil, which ended in favor of the Brazilian selection (2-0).

The Moroccan mixed selection reached the final at the expense of Mexico in the quarters (2-0) and Côte d’Ivoire in the semifinals (2-0).

It should be recalled that the Moroccan Women’s National Taekwondo selection stood out at these championships, having finished runners-up in the women’s team event on November 14.

The Moroccan women’s selection finished second in the championship following its final match against host South Korea (2-0) in favor of the South Korean selection.

The Moroccan women’s selection reached the final of the women’s team event at the expense of Côte d’Ivoire in the quarters (2-0) and Mexico in the semifinals (2-1).

Morocco was represented at the 2023 Taekwondo World Cup Team Championships Series by Meriem Khallal, Safia Saleh, Fatima-Zahra Abou Faris, and Omaima Boumah in the women’s category, and Abdelhamid Abdouni, Khaled Daoudi, Ayoub Yakini, and Soufiane Asssabi in the men’s category, led by coaches Badr Smaili and Faouzi Rachidi.
