The 2023 edition of the African Economic Conference (AEC), jointly organized by the African Development Bank (AfDB), the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA), and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), will be held in Addis Ababa between November 16 and 18.
According to the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA), this year’s edition will be held under the theme “The Imperatives for Sustainable Industrial Development in Africa.”
The conference will focus on several subjects, mainly “Industrialization and the integration of global value chains in Africa,” “Sustainable industrialization, a new frontier,” “The African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) and the industrialization of Africa” and “Financing the industrialization of Africa.”
“Since its creation in 2006, the African Economic Conference has been promoting research, dialogue between experts, and the exchange of knowledge on several issues and challenges facing Africa,” emphasized the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA).
The African Economic Conference (AEC) is the leading pan-African forum for discussing emerging economic challenges and opportunities and it provides a platform for established academics and young researchers to present their solution-oriented research to decision-makers on strengthening Africa’s response to climate change and its ripple effects.
