The Ministry of Interior reported in a statement that as of September 12 at 1 p.m., the death toll had reached 2901, of whom have been buried, in addition to 5,530 injured.
The Ministry stressed that the earthquake claimed 1643 lives in Al Haouz, 976 in Taroudant, and one death in Essaouira adding that 2884 people of the dead, may Allah surround them with His holy mercy and welcome them into His vast paradise, had been buried.
According to the same source, no new deaths have been reported in the other provinces and prefectures that were affected by the devastating earthquake.
The public authorities are pursuing their efforts to rescue, evacuate, and provide first aid for the injured, and unblock roads damaged by the earthquake, all while mobilizing all required resources to overcome the consequences of this painful tragedy.
