Her Highness Princess Lalla Zineb, President of the Moroccan League for Child Protection (LMPE), chaired, on October 2 at the Lalla Meriem Center for Children Deprived of their Family Environment in Rabat, the signing ceremony of a partnership agreement between LMPE and the Ministry of Youth, Culture, and Communication to equip four new reception centers for children without family protection.
Signed by HH Princess Lalla Zineb and the Minister of Youth, Culture, and Communication, Mohamed Mehdi Bensaid, the agreement focuses on the Ministry’s contribution to the equipment of four new reception centers for children deprived of families, in the cities of Oujda, Ouarzazate, Tangier, and El Jadida, with an overall budget of MAD 15.5 million.
According to a communiqué by the Moroccan League for Child Protection (LMPE), the equipment of these centers will give new impetus to the League’s social actions and will increase the capacity of care facilities for the most vulnerable children in the regions concerned, totaling 425 beds (136 in Oujda, 88 in Ouarzazate, 120 in Tangier, and 81 in El Jadida).
On this occasion, Her Highness Princess Lalla Zineb praised the efforts of the Ministry of Youth, Culture, and Communication in promoting partnerships in child protection, particularly for children in difficult situations, commending the rich expertise of both parties in this field, per the High Instructions of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may Allah assist Him.
For his part, Minister Bensaid, quoted in the communiqué, hailed the tangible results achieved by the League in the field of protecting and preserving the rights of beneficiaries at its reception facilities.
The Moroccan minister expressed his department’s commitment to working with the League to put into practice the main provisions of the agreement signed between the two parties and strengthening the measures and mechanisms for protecting the target groups, in the application of the High Royal Directives to improve care provisions for children in vulnerable situations.
