Moroccan craft products shone, on November 29 in Manila, on the occasion of the “Morocco: Kingdom of Light”.
Organized by the Moroccan Embassy in the Philippines, the Moroccan National Tourism Office (ONMT), and Rustan’s, the Philippine chain of upmarket department stores, the festival offers an immersive journey into Morocco’s handicraft heritage, from lighting to furnishing, including the layout of floors and walls, with no details missed. A perfect representation of Moroccan hospitality.
Upon entry, the Moroccan chandelier catches the eye, while cornices, moldings, and sculpted corbels testify to the know-how of Moroccan craftsmen.
Pottery, ceramics, marquetry, zellige, Amazigh carpets, and several other creations impress Filipino and foreign visitors, who come to discover the beauty of this purely Moroccan traditional space.
A wide range of local products is also offered to consumers looking for organic products, particularly cosmetics and essential and vegetable oils.
On this occasion, Filipino businesswoman and design consultant, Happy Ongpauco, stated that through the products on display, visitors can familiarize themselves with the components of Morocco’s cultural heritage and discover some of the country’s traditions, including local produce and interior decoration, stressing that Moroccan products are renowned for their quality and reflect the unique talent of Moroccan craftsmen.
The Filipino public figure also added that “this exhibition of Moroccan handicrafts aims to showcase the artistic talent and richness of Moroccan culture”.
The “Morocco: Kingdom of Light” festival, which kicked off on September 19 and will proceed until December 31 in Manila, aims to bring Morocco closer to Filipinos through several dimensions, notably Moroccan culture, music, arts, cuisine, and traditions.
This festival is part of the Moroccan National Tourism Office (ONMT) international “Kingdom Of Light” campaign, aimed at inspiring a new generation of travelers by showcasing the touristic attractions and experiences of a “contemporary and dynamic” country.
