The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rachid Talbi El Alami, represented His Majesty King Mohammed VI at the investiture ceremony of Guatemala’s new President, Bernardo Arévalo, which took place on January 14 in Guatemala City.
The official ceremony took place at the Miguel Angel Asturias National Theater, in the presence of numerous heads of state and government, as well as representatives of legislative institutions and delegations.
The Lower House Speaker was accompanied by Morocco’s Ambassador to Guatemala, Tarik Louajri.
During this ceremony, Talbi El Alami conveyed to Bernardo Arévalo the congratulations of His Majesty King Mohammed VI on the occasion of his election as president of his country.
In a statement to Maghreb Arab Presse (MAP), the Moroccan official noted that this ceremony was also an opportunity to express the Kingdom’s readiness to strengthen its relations with Guatemala in various fields.
It should be recalled that His Majesty the King addressed a message to Bernardo Arévalo following his election to the presidency of the Republic of Guatemala, expressing his warm congratulations to Arévalo for the trust placed in him by the friendly people of Guatemala, as well as His sincere wishes of success for the new Guatemalan president.
