The Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccan Expatriates, Nasser Bourita, held talks on May 29 in Beijing, with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China, Wang Yi.
This meeting falls within the framework of the positive dynamic characterizing relations between the two countries since the signing of the strategic partnership declaration by His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may Allah assist Him, and His Excellency President Xi Jinping, on the occasion of the Royal Visit to Beijing in May 2016.
On this occasion, the two Ministers praised the solid ties of friendship and cooperation uniting the two countries and examined ways to boost political, economic, and cultural exchanges.
During this meeting, Bourita also presented the recent Initiatives launched by His Majesty King Mohammed VI, with the aim of promoting the stability, security, and economic prosperity of African countries bordering the Atlantic; namely the initiative to promote access of the Sahel States to the Atlantic Ocean as well as the strategic Morocco-Nigeria gas pipeline project.
For his part, Wang Yi commended the leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI in favor of the Kingdom’s stability and economic and social development, hailing Morocco’s contribution to the promotion of regional and international peace and security.
Discussions also focused on several regional and international issues of common interest.
