The inhabitants of Ait Taleb douar in the Tamaloukte rural commune (Taroudant province) benefited, on September 16 and 17, from a multidisciplinary medical caravan deployed to provide assistance to those affected by the earthquake of September 8.
As part of efforts to mitigate the impact of Al Haouz earthquake on the affected populations, the medical caravan provided local medical and psychological assistance to beneficiaries.
Organized in partnership with the Taroudant Provincial Delegation for Health and Social Protection, the Provincial Department of National Education, Preschool and Sports, the Moroccan Family Planning Association (AMPF), and local authorities, this initiative mobilized a large staff of specialist doctors, nurses, and other health professionals and benefited approximately 800 people.
In a statement to Maghreb Arabe Presse (MAP), the Executive Director of the Moroccan Family Planning Association (AMPF), Abdellatif Maamri, stressed that this humanitarian initiative is part of the actions undertaken to provide assistance and mitigate the suffering of families affected by this natural disaster.
Maamri also added that the caravan provided consultations in specialties such as pediatrics, orthopedics, general medicine, and gynecology, as well as psychological assistance for the affected population, stressing that the AMPF has also organized campaigns to raise awareness of the importance of hygiene and nutrition and distribute food, clothing, and blankets.
