The funeral of the late Mohamed Bensaïd Aït Idder took place on February 7 in Casablanca, in the presence of His Royal Highness Prince Moulay Rachid.
The deceased was buried at Chouhada cemetery following Al-Asr and funeral prayers, in the presence of members of the deceased’s family, leaders and representatives of political and trade union groups, local authorities, and several other personalities.
Born in 1925 in the village of Timnsourt in Chtouka Ait Baha, the late Mohamed Bensaïd Aït Idder early joined the resistance against the French occupation and was among the founders of the Liberation Army.
The deceased was also one of the prominent political leaders in Morocco, where he founded the Organization of Popular Democratic Action (OADP) in the eighties.
His Majesty King Mohammed VI decorated the deceased with Wissam Al Arch in July 2015 on the occasion of the 16th anniversary of Throne Day.
