His Royal Highness Prince Moulay Rachid attended the funeral of His Majesty’s Advisor, the late Mohamed Moatassim, which took place on June 6 at the Chouhada cemetery in Rabat.
Following al-Dohr and funeral prayers at the Chouhada Mosque, the deceased, who passed away on June 5 in Rabat, was buried at the Chouhada cemetery.
The funeral was attended by the deceased’s family members and relatives, His Majesty’s Advisors, representatives of political parties, and several other personalities.
His Majesty King Mohammed VI sent a message of condolences and sympathy to the family of His Majesty’s Advisor, the late Mohamed Moatassim, who passed away on June 5 in Rabat.
In this message, His Majesty the King stated that he learned with sadness the news of the passing of the late Mohamed Moatassim, imploring Allah to accept him among the virtuous and welcome him into His vast paradise.
On this painful occasion, the Sovereign expressed His heartfelt condolences and sincere sympathy following this cruel loss, divine will being unstoppable, to the parents of the deceased, to his widow Mrs. Nabila, to his children Issam and Sara, to all the members of his family, as well as to the relatives, friends, and admirers of the late Mohamed Moatassim, imploring Allah to grant them patience and comfort.
The message underlines that the death of the late Mohamed Moatassim is a huge loss not only for his family but also for his homeland, which has lost a great and faithful servant of the Nation who devoted his life to the service of his country, with dedication and selflessness, while demonstrating unwavering attachment to the Glorious Alawite Throne, and to the constants and sanctities of the Nation.
His Majesty the King recalled, on this sad occasion, with great esteem and consideration, the late’s humane qualities, sincere patriotism, intellectual and academic abilities, and his profound insight into the political and constitutional fields that he showed in the various high positions he occupied with competence, adding that the late “was faithful to our Throne and our eternal Constants, both under the reign of our Revered Father the late His Majesty King Hassan II, may Allah welcome Him in His mercy, and as a faithful Advisor to Our Majesty.”
