The Moroccan national judo selection will participate in the Tokyo Grand Slam 2023 on December 2 and 3, a major international tournament organized by the International Judo Federation (IJF) as part of the “IJF World Tour”.
According to the Royal Moroccan Federation of Judo and Related Martial Arts, the national selection taking part in the Tokyo Grand Slam includes Soumiya Iraoui (-52 kg), Younes Seddiki (-60 kg), Abderrahmane Boushita (-66 kg), Hassan Doukkali (-73 kg), Achraf Moutii (-81 kg), and Mohammed Lahboub (+100 kg).
The Moroccan judokas taking part in this international tournament aim to qualify for the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.
The Tokyo Grand Slam 2023 will witness the participation of 534 judokas from 88 countries.
It should be recalled that Morocco won, on August 3 in Kinshasa in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), 4 in judo in a single day, maintaining its leading position at the 9th edition of the Francophone Games.
Hassan Doukali snatched gold in the -73kg category, while Chaimae Taibi, Hamza Kabdani, and Ziane Wissal won bronze in the -63kg, the -81kg, and the -57kg categories respectively.
