The first Deputy Speaker of the Chamber of Deputies of the Czech Republic, Vera Kovarova, reaffirmed on April 23 in Rabat, during a meeting with the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rachid Talbi Alami, her country’s position in favor of Morocco’s Autonomy Initiative as a solution to the artificial dispute over the Moroccan Sahara.

On this occasion, Kovarova, who is visiting the Kingdom at the head of a large parliamentary delegation, commended the reforms undertaken by the Kingdom under the wise leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, stressing that Morocco constitutes “a key partner of the Czech Republic in Africa and a model to follow in several areas”.

For his part, Talbi Alami praised the excellent historical relations uniting the two friendly countries, and the level of cooperation between their respective legislative institutions thanks to the exchange of visits between parliamentary delegations.

During this meeting, the two parties also examined the different aspects of bilateral parliamentary cooperation and discussed common challenges such as water management, climate change, clean energy, agriculture, education, artificial intelligence, and industry, in addition to several other topics of common interest.

Kovarova seized this opportunity to invite the Moroccan official to conduct a working visit to the Czech Republic to further consolidate parliamentary cooperation between the two countries.

This meeting took place in the presence of the president of the Morocco-Czech Republic parliamentary friendship group, El Hussein Ben Tayeb, and the ambassador of the Czech Republic to Morocco, Ladislav Škeřík.
