The Speaker of the Finnish Parliament, Jussi Halla-aho, stressed the importance of the partnership with Morocco for the European Union (EU) and Finland.
In a statement to the press on May 20 in Rabat, following his meeting with the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rachid Talbi El Alami, Halla-aho affirmed that “Morocco plays a key role in the partnership with the European Union in many fields”, including energy transition and the fight against climate change, migration, countering terrorism and radicalization, and many other strategic areas.
On the same occasion, the Finnish official praised the excellent relations uniting Morocco and Finland which “share many values and ambitions”, commending the Kingdom’s reforms which demonstrate a coherent and ambitious development trajectory.
Halla-aho also expressed his country’s willingness to further strengthen cooperation with Morocco, particularly in the areas of digitalization, education, and the circular economy.
