Parliamentary Delegation Reiterates Morocco’s Constant Position in Support of Palestinian Cause

The delegation of the House of Councilors which took part in the fifth Conference of the League of Parliamentarians for Al Quds, held from April 26 to 28 in Istanbul, reiterated Morocco’s constant position in support of the Palestinian cause, in accordance with the High Directives of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, Chairman of Al Quds Committee.

According to a press release from the House of Councilors, the parliamentary delegation recalled, in this regard, that His Majesty the King has insisted, on several occasions, on the need to support the legitimate right of the Palestinian people to establish an independent Palestinian state with Al Quds-East as its capital, as well as continuing efforts to defend the Arab and Islamic identity of the Holy City, preserve its unique character and prevent any attack on its legal, cultural, civilizational, historical and demographic status as a spiritual center of coexistence and understanding between the followers of the three monotheistic religions.

According to the same source, the delegation also highlighted, during this conference, the High Royal Instructions relating to the delivery of humanitarian aid for the benefit of the Palestinian population in Gaza and Al Quds during the holy month of Ramadan this year, “an unprecedented humanitarian initiative” by land which made Morocco the first country to achieve this exceptional feat since the outbreak of military actions, thanks to the wise and far-sighted leadership of His Majesty the King.

On the sidelines of this conference, the Moroccan delegation held a series of meetings with representatives of the participating Parliaments, an opportunity to exchange views on several subjects of common interest and explore new cooperation opportunities.
