A customs guard brigade in Kairouan Tunisia seized a large quantity of contraband tobacco, including 320 kg of hookah tobacco and 8,860 packets of cigarettes, worth 137,000 dinars, the general management of customs.
These goods were on board a car registered in Tunisia and driven by a Tunisian citizen. A report has been drawn up to this effect.
Similarly, a patrol belonging to the Customs Guard of Sfax seized a sum of 100,000 dinars, hidden inside a car registered in Tunisia and whose driver did not have documents proving the legitimacy of the detention of such an amount.
The public prosecutor authorized the seizure of this sum and ordered that the investigation to this effect be continued.
In addition, the Tunis customs guard brigade seized 7,800 mobile phone accessories hidden inside a warehouse, with a total value of 82 thousand dinars, while the Sousse customs brigade seized numerous items of smuggled ready-to-wear, worth 144 thousand dinars.
