Weather Forecast: Localized Heavy Rain, Wind Gusts Expected on January 19 in Several Moroccan Provinces (DGM)

According to an orange alert bulletin from the General Directorate of Meteorology (DGM), heavy localized rain (25-70mm), and strong wind gusts (70-95 km/h) are expected Friday, January 19, in several of the Kingdom’s provinces.

These heavy rains will be witnessed from 4 a.m. to 9 p.m., in the provinces of Tetouan, Chefchaouen, Al Hoceima (40-70 mm), Ouezzane, Larache, Taounate, Taza, Tangier-Assilah, Fahs-Anjra and M’Diq- Fnideq (25-40 mm).

Strong gusts of wind with blowing dust (70-95 km/h) are also forecast in the provinces of Azilal, Al Haouz and Chichaoua, from midnight to 2 p.m.

The provinces of Larache, M’Diq-Fnideq, Fahs-Anjra, Ouezzane, Tanger-Assilah, El Hajeb, Meknes, Fez, Moulay Yacoub, Taounate, Salé, Rabat, Skhirate-Témara, Kenitra, Sidi Slimane, Sidi Kacem, Khemisset, Mediouna, Casablanca, Benslimane, Mohammadia, Nouaceur, Khénifra, Ifrane, Sefrou and Errachidia will be affected by the same strong gusts, the same day from 4 a.m. to 6 p.m. 

Strong gusts of wind with blowing dust are also forecast in the provinces of Chefchaouen, Al Hoceima, Tétouan, Nador, Berkane, Figuig, Driouch, Jerada, Oujda-Angad, Taourirt, Guercif, Boulemane, Taza, Midelt, Ouarzazate and Tinghir from 4 a.m. to midnight, and in Aousserd and Oued Ed-Dahab, from noon to midnight.
