The Arab League (AL) Council highlighted, on July 4 in Cairo, the role of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, in his capacity as Chairman of al-Quds Committee, in protecting Al-Aqsa Mosque and supporting the Maqdissis resistance.
In a statement sanctioning its emergency meeting at the permanent delegates’ level, the Council reaffirmed the importance of the Palestinian cause for the entire Arab Nation and the inalienable rights of Palestinians, namely the rights to self-determination, return, and compensation for Palestinian refugees, as well as the right to an independent and sovereign Palestinian state within the June 4, 1967 borders, with East al-Quds as its capital.
The statement also stressed the legitimate right of Palestinians to defend themselves, calling for urgent Arab action to address Israeli aggression.
Morocco was represented at this meeting by the Kingdom’s Ambassador to Egypt and Permanent Representative to the Arab League (AL), Ahmed Tazi.
