The Ministry of Equipment and Water has announced that it will be in charge of the demolition process of buildings fully damaged by the earthquake that struck several regions of the Kingdom on September 8, adding that the Ministry’s departments will prepare the ground for rebuilding destroyed homes.
On this occasion, the Minister of Equipment and Water, Nizar Baraka, stated that joint committees are working in coordination with the Ministry of Interior to assess and identify houses damaged by the earthquake, stressing that the Ministry of Equipment and Water will be in charge of demolishing destroyed buildings.
In a statement to SNRTnews, Baraka explained that the Ministry will also be responsible for demolishing buildings at risk of collapse due to the earthquake, whether private residences or public institution buildings, in addition to disposing of the debris from these buildings and transporting it to sites designated for this purpose, while taking into account the environmental aspect.
The Minister, who visited the provinces of Al Haouz and Taroudant on September 23 and 24, stressed that following the previously mentioned measures, the Ministry of Equipment and Water will work towards preparing the appropriate ground to launch the reconstruction process.
