Spanish digital media platform “El Orden Mundial” (EOM), a reference in the analysis of international news, stated that Morocco, which attaches great importance to the development of green hydrogen, is increasingly strengthening its position as a privileged partner of the European Union (EU) and attracting more investment.
In an article entitled “Morocco’s Plan to Become the New Energy Power,” the Spanish portal noted that “Morocco is in the process of consolidating its position as a privileged partner of the European Union, attracting investment and signing agreements to connect to the future European clean hydrogen market.”
The Spanish media stressed that the Kingdom, as a “future producing power” and “regional energy hub,” has already launched its first solar-powered hydrogen production plant, and is projecting itself as “a future major producer.”
El Orden Mundial explained that these projects, coupled with the Kingdom’s proximity to Europe, which is in the midst of an energy transition, have already put Morocco in the spotlight as a “regional energy hub,” stressing that with green hydrogen, Morocco is opting for “one of the most comprehensive energy strategies in North Africa.”
The Spanish news portal recalled that in November 2022, His Majesty King Mohammed VI had given His High Directives to draft an operational and attractive “Morocco Offer” as soon as possible, covering the entire value chain of the green hydrogen industry in the Kingdom, including not only the regulatory and institutional framework but also the necessary infrastructure.
