HoG Aziz Akhannouch Holds Talks with HCL Tech President

The Head of Government, Aziz Akhannouch, received, on July 24 in Rabat, Roshni Nadar, President of HCL Tech, a world-renowned Indian group that has chosen Morocco as the site for its new Delivery Center specializing in technical support and software engineering to serve its global customers.

A communiqué by the Department of the Head of Government reported that during her visit to Morocco, the President of HCL Tech will meet with Minister Delegate in charge of Investment, Convergence, and Evaluation of Public Policies, Mohcine Jazouli, and Minister Delegate in charge of Digital Transition and Administrative Reform, Ghita Mezzour, to inaugurate HCL Tech’s Delivery Center in Technopolis Rabat. 

The communiqué noted that this investment, which will create over a thousand highly-skilled jobs, ratifies the negotiation process initiated in 2021 and finalized by the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in 2022, adding that it also boosts the Moroccan outsourcing sector, particularly in coding, software, and IT services.

“Under the Enlightened Vision of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may Allah assist him, the Kingdom has resolutely embarked on a digital transition in order to instill a new dynamic into the country’s socio-economic development,” added the same source. 

“We are delighted to host HCL Tech in Morocco, as we are convinced that their presence will be a powerful engine for growth in the IT and outsourcing sector, opening up numerous opportunities for our talented young people,” stated Jazouli, underlining that this investment strengthens the deep-rooted economic and cultural ties between India and Morocco.

For her part, Nadar expressed her joy in launching HCL activities in Morocco to carry out digital transformation projects at the service of the company’s customers, adding that “at HCL Tech, we bring out the best in technology and our people to drive progress for our customers, teams, communities, and the planet.”

“We look forward to investing and expanding our presence in Morocco to actively contribute to the local technology ecosystem and communities,” concluded HCL Tech’s President.
