The 7th Moulay El Hassan International Para-Athletics Meeting will be held between March 9 and 11, at the Marrakech Grand Stadium, with the participation of 450 athletes from 44 African, European, Asian, and American countries.
This international sporting event, organized under the High Patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed 6th, is part of the Grand Prix series, under the supervision of World Para Athletics, and will be marked by the participation of Moroccan and foreign Paralympic champions and athletes who have set world records in their specialties.
The Moroccan delegation participating in this event, which will be organized by the Royal Moroccan Federation of Sports for the Disabled, in partnership with the Ministry of National Education, Preschool and Sports, will include 61 champions, including Ayoub Sadni, who broke the world record of the men’s 400 meters-T47 during the previous edition, and Zakaria Derham who also broke the world record in his category, snatching the gold medal.
On the sidelines of this event, the Royal Moroccan Federation of Sports for the Disabled will mobilize national and international experts to lead thematic meetings, and training sessions, including a training classification on Intellectual Disability, a national symposium on Women & Para-Sport, Para-Sport Awareness Days, a national meeting for associations and clubs affiliated with the federation for the 2022/2023 sporting season, and tributes to female sports figures on the occasion of Women’s Day.
It must be noted that during the 6th edition of Moulay El Hassan International Para-Athletics Meeting, Morocco came in 3rd in the final medals table with a total of 48 medals, including 10 gold, 16 silver, and 22 bronze. The 6th edition was also marked by the breaking of 3 world records and 5 continental ones.
