The Kingdom of Morocco expresses its full solidarity with brotherly country Libya following the storms and floods that have affected several regions of the country, causing losses of life and property.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation, and Moroccan Expatriates reported in a press release issued on September 11 that the Kingdom sends its deep condolences and sincere sympathy to Libya, the Libyan people, and the families of the victims of this harsh ordeal, as well as its wishes for a speedy recovery to the injured.
The Eastern regions of Libya, particularly the coastal town of Jabal al-Akhdar as well as Benghazi, experienced on the afternoon of September 10 heavy floods following Storm Daniel, which resulted in devastating destruction across the region.
Following this tremor, rescue teams have also been deployed in Derna, approximately 900 kilometers east of the capital Tripoli.
An estimated 3,000 people have died, while about 10,000 were reported missing, raising fears that the death toll could escalate quickly.
