ONMT, TUI GROUP Seal Historic Partnership

The Moroccan National Tourism Office (ONMT) announced on Tuesday that it sealed a historic partnership with TUI GROUP, the world leader in tourism.

According to a statement from the Office, “the Director General of the Moroccan National Tourism Office (ONMT), Adel El Fakir, signed a Record agreement with Sebastian Ebel, the Chairman and CEO of TUI GROUP, the world’s leading tourism operator.”

This agreement extends over the next 5 years, starting from the 2023 summer season to the 2027-2028 winter season, i.e. 10 seasons, which will allow Morocco to enjoy over double tourist arrivals, with a growth rate of about 220%.

The Moroccan National Tourism Office (ONMT) reported that the TUI GROUP records about 210.000 annual customers in Morocco, adding that this number is expected to reach half a million customers thanks to this partnership.

El Fakir stated that this is an important moment for the Moroccan National Tourism Office (ONMT) and for Moroccan tourism in general, since the TUI Group is undoubtedly a leading operator with a  significant impact on the sector, adding that this agreement will allow TUI Group to expand their activities in Morocco, resulting in similar commitments by many other travel leaders.

This partnership aims to double tourist arrivals from France, triple tourist arrivals from Germany, Austria, Switzerland, the UK, and Belgium, and quadruple tourist arrivals from the Netherlands.

In this regard, the Moroccan National Tourism Office (ONMT) continues its efforts relentlessly and implements its strategy to achieve the main strategic export markets for Morocco.

TUI GROUP is the world’s leading tourism group with a wide range of activities, namely tour operators with strong brands, 1.600 travel agencies and online portals, nearly 400 hotels, incoming agencies throughout the world, and six airlines with approximately 150 airplanes and 18 ships.

In Morocco, TUI GROUP seeks to further develop its dynamic growth with a major investment plan in Agadir and Marrakech.
