The Moroccan men’s boxing selection is undergoing an international training camp until August 23 at Moulay Rachid’s Royal Institute for the Training of Youth and Sports Officials (IRFC) in Maâmoura, alongside their Uzbek and Danish counterparts.
The Uzbekistani selection comprises 13 boxers, led by 2019 world champion Mirazizbek Mirzahalilov and World Championship bronze medallist Abdoulaev, while the Danish selection includes 6 boxers.
The Royal Moroccan Boxing Federation (FRMB) stated that this joint concentration camp is part of the preparations of the Moroccan national selection, which was crowned African champions in Yaoundé, Cameroon, before the African qualifiers (Dakar, September 6-16) for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
According to the federation, this training camp will include several practice matches for the Moroccan champions to assess their readiness, in addition to specialized technical training.
The Moroccan selection, which will be supervised by technical staff, including coach Hicham Nafil, will also participate in a joint international training camp with leading nations in boxing.
On August 6, the Moroccan boxing selection were crowned champions of the AFBC African Boxing Championships in Yaoundé, topping the medals standing with 13 medals with 8 gold, 2 silver, and 3 bronze medals.
