Al Haouz Earthquake: Emirati Ambassador to Morocco Hails Professionalism, Colossal Efforts of Moroccan Authorities

The UAE’s Ambassador to Morocco, Al Asri Saeed Ahmed Al Dhaheri, praised, on September 19, the “professionalism” and “colossal efforts” of the Moroccan authorities to assist the victims of Al Haouz earthquake, per the High Directives of His Majesty King Mohammed VI.

In a statement to Maghreb Arabe Presse (MAP), the Emirati ambassador stated that “the work carried out by Morocco has been professional and colossal, and could not have been achieved without the High Guidance of HM King Mohammed VI,” stressing that “despite the mountainous and steep nature of the affected areas, the situation was quickly brought under control.”

Al Dhaheri stressed that he was deeply moved by the message of gratitude addressed by His Majesty the King to the Head of the UAE search and rescue team, which took part in the rescue efforts following Al Haouz region earthquake.

The Emirati diplomat affirmed that all the members of the Emirati rescue team had praised the work they had accomplished alongside their Moroccan counterparts, commending, in this regard, the role played by the Moroccan authorities in facilitating the team’s action on the ground.

The Emirati ambassador also expressed his thanks to UAE President, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice-President, Prime Minister of the UAE and Governor of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, and Vice-President, Deputy Prime Minister, and Minister of the Presidential Court of the UAE, His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, for their constant monitoring of the situation and their directives to rescue team members.

In this regard, UAE’s ambassador expressed “his sincere condolences to His Majesty King Mohammed VI, the Moroccan government, the brotherly Moroccan people, and the families of the martyrs.”

On September 17, His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may Allah assist Him, sent a message of thanks and gratitude to General Ali Al Moutaouaa, Head of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Search and Rescue Team, who took part in the rescue efforts following the earthquake that struck Al Haouz region.

“We express Our pride and gratitude for this generous humanitarian contribution, which testifies to the depth of the ties of solid brotherhood and active solidarity that unite the Emirati and Moroccan peoples,” stated the Sovereign in His message.
